There is plenty to see and do in Southport and the surrounding area and the hotel’s convenient location makes it a great base from which to explore all that the area has to offer. Southport itself offers all the delights of a traditional British seaside resort, including award-winning beaches, such as the nearby Ainsdale Beach to the south of the town, and Formby beach for bathing. Southport also boasts Britain’s second longest pier, which was fully renovated in 2003 and has a tram, a cafe and all kinds of entertainments. Pleasureland, Southport’s major family theme park boasts over 80 rides for all ages and there is also the Promenade and the Kings Gardens with the Model Railway Village, bowling greens, pitch and putt and crazy golf. Southport is renowned as England’s Golfing Capital and within just half an hour’s drive of the hotel, there are 15 golf courses, 6 of which are of championship standard. There are a further 160 courses within an hour’s drive. The area is also great for bird watching, water sports, walking and cycling, and the city of Liverpool is just 45 minutes away.
